LAUNCHING MIRACLE CAFÉS…AGAIN!
Imagine giving up your dream home, your business, your career, your income – because God asked you to, not knowing what was to come next? That’s what we did many years ago. Our family of four moved to a ‘deprived’ neighbourhood in our hometown of Chester, UK. We started up weekly School of the Spirit meetings, then opened a café in our neighbourhood, a gift shop with café in the city centre, and also a B&B with shop and bistro on the outskirts of town. The vision wasn’t simply to start up businesses, but to help people live in the fullness of all they’re created for – spirit, soul and body. I (Aliss) had been praying for people to be healed and for miracles like I read in the Bible, for around 12 years, but without much success. Then, as soon as we opened our first Café, incredible miracles broke out and have continued ever since, everywhere we go. And the rest, as they say, is history!
LIVES TRANSFORMED
Hundreds, if not thousands, of people have been impacted by the healings, miracles and freedom they’ve found as they’ve encountered the love and power of Jesus in our cafés. After appearing on TV with Sid Roth, my books ‘A Diary of Miracles’ caught the attention of thousands, and news of our miracle cafés went all over the world!
From teenagers coming off weed, to cancerous tumours disappearing, people in wheelchairs getting up and walking, to addicts being set free, those with mental health issues finding peace, to the broken-hearted finding comfort and unemployed finding purpose, estranged families back together – the list goes on and on. It’s hard to comprehend the huge impact our cafés have had over the years
LETTING IT ALL GO
In this midst of this powerful move of God, and with a dream to open more cafés in the UK and other nations, we were surprised when the Holy Spirit asked us to lay it all down. The Lord was leading us to close these missionary businesses. It didn’t make sense to us or to anyone else, but the message to us from the Lord was clear.
The Scripture He gave us at the time was from John 12 “Unless a grain of wheat falls into the earth and dies, it remains by itself alone. But if it dies, it produces many others and yields a rich harvest.” We were obedient to the call, even though we did it with a heavy heart, and after the pain of letting it all go, we were not expecting to open cafés again.
Training & Equipping
We focused on setting up an online community and local Classes to mentor, train, equip and activate people all over the world to follow Jesus and do the works that He did wherever they go, and this is growing beyond our expectations.
HARVEST TIME!
We hardly dare believe it, but just recently, the Lord has been speaking to me (Aliss) and our Business Manager Ruth, about cafés again. Ruth has a catering background and has set up drop-in centres and fed and housed the homeless of North Wales for the past 20 years as well as leading them to Jesus and running small groups with her husband Terry. So with our combined experience and heart for people, we’re now on a mission!
We’ve recently opened a Miracle Café in Bangor, Wales, and our vision is not just for one or two cafés, but many Miracle Cafés around the world! In these crazy times where hospitality businesses have been hard hit by lockdowns and restrictions, it seems strange to be wanting to establish cafés again. But we serve a “God who gives life to the dead and calls into being that which does not exist” (Romans 4). Could it be that He is giving life to our once ‘dead’ dreams of reaching people all around the world through our Miracle Cafés!?
Birthing a move of God
Could this be the time? To all those who are still waiting for their dreams to be fulfilled: “Sing, barren woman, you who never bore a child; burst into song, shout for joy… because more are the children of the desolate woman…says the Lord. Enlarge the place of your tent, stretch your tent curtains wide, do not hold back; lengthen your cords, strengthen your stakes. For you will break out (like a baby being born) to the right and to the left; your descendants will dispossess nations and settle in their desolate cities. Do not be afraid; you will not be put to shame.”
We believe it is time to step out in faith, not to hold back, but to establish Miracle Cafés – places of refuge, community, miracles, mentoring and good food, where everyone is welcome, to ‘taste and see that the Lord is good!’
