I wrote this on FaceBook exactly a year ago but decided to repost it here on my blog:

“Yesterday was a day of mixed emotions. Our second daughter would have turned 22 yesterday had she lived. Rob and I took the day off to spend together and because the weather was so bad we decided to venture into town.

We popped into the bank, and while Rob was standing in the queue, I got chatting to an older lady who said she’d only come out as the pain from her gall bladder abscesses was so bad she couldn’t stay at home. She was 86 but didn’t look it. As I prayed for her, I told the abscesses and the pain to leave and for the healing power of Jesus to come. She squeezed my hand so tightly my ring cut into my finger, but she was so overwhelmed by the presence of Jesus, she couldn’t let go as she told me the pain had all gone and that she loved Jesus!

Next we went into a shop and chatted to the guy behind the counter. He asked what we did for a living, and as it’s always difficult to explain to people, I decided to demonstrate by prophesying to him. I told him of God’s love for him and that despite the fact he felt stuck in the shop and his passion was really for adventures up mountains and outdoors, that things were going to change. I said this year something significant is going to happen to you – something really good, it’s going to be life changing and I prophesied about him seeing God’s plan for the long life he had ahead of him.

He looked overwhelmed and started to laugh. He told us that all his family had died – his parents when he was 3, then his grandparents, his parent’s siblings and there was no-one left in his family apart from him. He told us he was 25 and just been told by the doctors that a tear in his heart meant that he was going to die very soon too and there was nothing they could do to fix it! He loved the outdoors but wasn’t allowed to do anything strenuous. We were shocked, but so pleased that we could do something about it, so we prayed for him. We broke off all curses and the spirit of death off him and his family line and we released the healing power of Jesus. He said he felt warm and a bit dizzy!

He said he went to a Catholic church but didn’t seem to know Jesus personally so we told him about Jesus and how he could know Him and then we had to go, but we must have spent about 45 minutes with him! He couldn’t help smiling and said he felt different. We went away thanking the Lord for His goodness. To have the opportunity to transform people’s lives with the good news of Jesus Christ and His Kingdom is tremendous. (We saw this guy again nearly a year later and he said he is absolutely fine, there seems to be nothing wrong with him physically anymore. We then prayed for his colleague who’d had a serious back condition since birth and she was healed instantly).

Don’t let plans of the enemy, whether they be hardships, struggles, sufferings or simply distractions, prevent you from doing what you were born to do. You have a purpose and a destiny to fulfil. It is your time. Go for it! We’re cheering you on and so is all of heaven! Your loved ones who are now with the Lord are part of the great cloud of witnesses and not only are they cheering you on, but they come into their inheritance fully when we do our part too. Be determined this year to not allow the past to rob you of your future any longer.”
